Hyderabad: Several leaders of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) from Warangal, including Parakal Municipal Chairman Murthyraju Bhadraiah, along with their hundreds of supporters joined the Congress party in the presence of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the joining of leaders of various political parties into the Congress was a clear indication that the party was returning to power both at the Centre and in the State. He said those leaders were joining the Congress as they were attracted to the party's ideology of social justice, secularism and inclusive growth. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that it was the Congress party which turned the 60-year-old dream of State into a reality.

However, he alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and TRS Government have shattered the dream of the State and disappointed crores of people who had lot of aspirations with the new State. He said hundreds of students and youth have sacrificed their lives for the statehood cause. But the Chief Minister does not have even a minute's time to think on the welfare of martyrs' families.

The TPCC President alleged that the State is now being ruled by the 'betrayers' of Telangana. TRS Government is implementing policies that are detrimental to the interest of Dalits, Girijans, unemployed, women, students, minorities and farmers.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TRS Government did not fulfil even a single major electoral promise. However, the Chief Minister has been making claims as if he fulfilled 99 per cent of promises.

Welcoming Parakal municipal chairman into Congress fold, he said Bhadraiah has decided to join the party as he was vexed with the wrong policies of TRS Government. Parakal Congress incharge E Venkatram Reddy, Warangal DCC chief Nayani Rajender Reddy, Sarang Phani, M Raji Reddy and other senior leaders were also present on the occasion.
