Karimnagar: Appreciating the SHE Teams for their work, Karimnagar Police Commissioner V B Kamalasan Reddy said that the SHE Teams were discharging their duties perfectly which is keeping eve-teasers under check. The Commissioner held a meeting with the members of SHE Teams here at Police Commissionerate in Karimnagar on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Police Commissioner said that as part of self defence, special training is being given to the members of SHE Teams in Martial Arts. The members of the SHE Team must acquire knowledge in advanced technology in order to keep a check on eve-teasers.
The posting of SHE Teams members will be changed in every three months. Strict actions would be taken against eve-teasers who trouble and cause harm to women and girl students. Advanced technology is used to nab eve teasers with evidence, the Commissioner said.
Eve teasers will be booked under Nirbaya Act depending on the situation of the case they are involved in. The SHE team members in civil dress will be observing eve-teasers at public places at main centres, bus stands, theatres and near educational institutions.
Around 280 eve teasers were nabbed till date from various public places out of which FIR was lodged against 14 and petti cases against 64 along with giving counselling to about 132, and serious warnings to about 15.
The women and girl students who are facing eve teasing can file complaint through their mobile phone, Facebook or WhatsApp, the Commissioner added.
Additional DCP S Srinivas, ACP P Venkataramana, SHE Team inspector Mogali, Reserve Inspectors Mallesham, Johny Miya and others were also present in the meeting.
