Khammam: Telangana State is attracting national attentions as it achieved development within a short period, according to Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao here on Tuesday.

The Minister was participating in the various development activities and inaugurated the Scheduled Castes community halls in Muddulapalli, Teldarupalli and Venkatagiri villages. The community halls were constructed at a cost of Rs 7.50 lakh each. He was also laying foundation stone for the construction of road from Teldarupalli to Venkatagiri at an estimated cost of Rs 5 crore in Khammam rural mandal.

Speaking in the public meeting organised on the occasion at Teldarupalli, the Minister said on seeing the people in other States were evincing keen interest on enormous development in the State. The people wanted the such a development in their States too.

On development activities in the Teldarupalli village, he said said the government had allotted Rs 50 lakh under Mission Bhagiratha and Rs 86.75 lakh under Mission Kakatiya for restoring the tanks in and around the village. Apart from it, the government had sanctioned Rs 69.80 lakhs for distributing pensions to around 646 persons in the village and allotted about 18 double bedroom houses.

The government allotted nearly 137 sheep units under Sheep Rearing Scheme to the Golla and Kuruma communities. Under Rythu Bandhu Scheme, as much as Rs 58 lakh worth of cheques were distributed to 623 farmers in the village.

The government had also sanctioning of Rs 52 lakh for construction if individual sanitary latrines (ISLs), said the Minister. He said several development activities were launched in Palair constituency.

Later, the Minister distributed the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak cheques to the beneficiaries. ZP Chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha, State Seed Development Corporation Chairman K Koteshwara Rao, MLC B Lakshminarayana, DCCB Chairman Muvva Vijay Babu, MPP M Lalitha, ZPTC D Bharati, Sarpanchs B Bhiksham, B Dhana Lakshmi, A Bhadramma, MPTC S Sujatha, ZP Chief Executive officer M Nagesh, Revenue Divisional Officer Purnachandra, SC Development Officer K Sathyanarayana and Tahasildar Narasimha Rao were present at the programme.
