​Hyderabad: International expert consultant, academicians and transport experts constitute the Expert Committee formed by the Telangana government to study the functioning of TSRTC and suggest plans and measures for efficient functioning of the corporation.

According to sources, the State government formed a committee of experts and there are several academicians, transport experts including an expert from Austria. The committee had been asked to give its report to the Transport principal secretary within three months.

The committee members include former Chairman of Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) Nagaraju Yadav, Former Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT) Faculty Hanumantha Rao, Karnataka Road Transport Corporation and Former Executive Director ASRTU (Association of State Road Transport Undertakings ) P S Ananda Rao, Expert Consultant working in Austria Antony Kumar, Urban Transport Consultant Prateek Dave, ASCI (Administrative Staff College of India) Director Prof V Srinivasa, TSRTC Executive Director (retired) D Venu, TSRTC Executive Director (Revenue) and Secretary to the Corporation Purushottam Naik. Naik would be the convener of the committee. The committee can call any special invitee for discussion on the subject.

The cabinet subcommittee had assured to form an experts committee to study RTC and also suggest ways and means to bring the organisation into profits. The committee had been asked to consult all the concerned stake holders including recognised trade union.

The committee had been asked to carry out an in depth study of TSRTC and suggest plans and measures for efficient functioning of the corporation, to have comprehensive study for designing ‘holistic organisation transformation strategies’ for TSRTC, to examine the various concessions extended to different sections of the society by similar organisations in the country and suggest plans for improving the internal efficiency with the existing resources and reducing the expenditure using latest technologies around the world.

The principal secretary had been asked to prepare a final report based on the report of the expert committee in consultation with senior officials of various departments including principal secretaries of Finance, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Transport Commissioner and any other officer which he feels necessary and submit it to the government.
