Tension prevailed among the senior officials at the NTR University of Health Sciences NTRUHS and Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences KNRUHS following the news flashed striking down the verdict of the State High Court on the issue of GO 550
Hyderabad: Tension prevailed among the senior officials at the NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) and Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) following the news flashed striking down the verdict of the State High Court on the issue of GO 550.
Following initial reports indicating that the Apex court had restored the Clause 5.2 of GO 550 left the officials to fear that they had to recommence the entire process of the medical counseling which has almost come to an end, with the NTRUHS already completing the Mop-up Counseling and the KNUMS scheduled to commence the web options from August 25.
However, officials felt a sigh of relief on getting clarifications that the Apex court had asked not to disturb the admissions already made for the current year. Clarifying the same KNUMS Vice-Chancellor Dr B Karunakar Reddy told The Hans India, that restoring the clause 5.2 will have to be implemented from the next academic year and there is no need to worry about the admission made for the current academic year.
Setting aside High Court’s verdict, the apex court has asked to follow the similar process as followed earlier in filling a seat vacated by a merit reservation candidate. Further, the court directed the AP and Telangana States could make necessary corrections as per the online examination followed now so as to give effect to the GO 550 which was followed during manual system of entrance and admissions.
Meanwhile, the KNRUHS has announced the schedule for Mop-Up counselling on Friday to fill the final round to fill up the vacant seats in the MBBS and BDS courses. The notifications said that the final round of Mop-Up counseling is meant for filling up the vacant seats in MBBS and BDS courses after the second phase of counseling under Competent authority quota of category A, due to non-joining of candidates.
