​Hyderabad: Congress leaders are expecting the appointment of various committees of the PCC as high command has summoned state party chief Uttam Kumar Reddy to Delhi on Thursday.

Uttam Kumar Reddy left for Delhi early in the morning and he has been camping there. He held discussions with the leaders of PCC about the committees on Wednesday night in Hyderabad.

Sources in the party said that the high command may constitute Manifesto, Coordination, Campaign and Strategy Committees of the PCC. The appointments would be announced on Friday or Saturday as AICC president Rahul Gandhi is leaving for tour on Friday.

Party leaders said that the committees would be constituted keeping the early elections to the Assembly in view. The high command wants to prepare the state party for the elections at the earliest.

According to sources, MLA A Revanth Reddy may be appointed as chairman of the Campaign Committee. Other MLAs Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and DK Aruna may be appointed as co-chairmen. Former deputy chief minister Damodara Raja Narasimha may be appointed as chairman of Manifesto Committee.

Meanwhile, party senior leader V Hanumantha Rao has warned the party leadership with dire consequences if he was not appointed as chairman of Campaign Committee. In a statement he said that he would consider taking a drastic step if Revanth is appointed as chairman of that committee.
