Medak: Rice mill owners staged protest against state government’s negligence over the delay in the release of contract milling payment dues, at the collectorate here on Tuesday. Thodupunuri Chandrapal, president of District Rice Miller Owners Welfare Association demanded the State government to release the due amount immediately. Speaking during the protest, he expressed his anguish that due to the State government’s apathy towards them the rice mill industry has been undergoing severe financial crisis.
He said that ever since the formation of Telangana State, the contract milling charges have not been paid regularly and as a result mill owners find it very hard to meet labour, electricity bills and other expenses. Mill owners also complained against DM, who allegedly neglected Collector’s orders. Later, rice mill owners submitted a memorandum to the Collector. Thodupunuri Shivramkrishna, Goutha Shekhar, Bachu Jagadeeshwar, Medishetti Shankar and others participated in the protest.
