Hyderabad: Taking exception to the Opposition party leaders’ remarks of family rule in the State, IT Minister K T Rama Rao on Tuesday asked whether the family of TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao should not be in politics and only the families of the Congress should be in politics.

The Minister was addressing a meeting at Telangana Bhavan where Congress leaders Macha Reddy and MPP L Narsingh Rao and others joined the TRS on Tuesday. The Minister addressed the gathering from a campaign vehicle of Nagarkurnool MLA M Janardhan Reddy, which he inaugurated. He asked whether the family of K Chandrashekar Rao should only be in agitation and not in the government.

Rao said the Congress president Rahul Gandhi could not help the party win the elections. “Rahul Gandhi cannot ensure victory of his municipal ward candidate in his own constituency. How can he ensure victory of the Congress in the State,” said Rao. He said all leaders in the Congress were chief ministerial candidates and whom should the people vote among them, he asked.
