Mahbubnagar: The Bharat Bandh call given by all the opposition parties was got good response in Mahbubnagar district on Monday. Beginning their protest right in the morning at 6 am onwards the leaders and workers of CPI, CPM, New Democracy, TDP and Congress staged dharna in front of Mahbubnagar bus depot and did not let any buses to come out of the depot until 1 pm.
However, the police intervened and tried to disperse the agitators, but when the agitators did not heed to police; they police arrested all the protesters and shifted them to one town police station. While talking on the occasion Paramesh goud of CPI said, “The TRS government is adopting suppressive tactics to shut the voices of the opposition who are fighting for justice to the common man.
During the past 4 years both the TRS and BJP government at the state and central levels have adopted suppressive measures and increased the fuel prices many folds breaking the backs of the poor who are reeling under tough economic conditions.
The BJP at the centre with its anti-people’s polices has devastated the economy of the country due to note ban. We want to express our concerns over the people’s plight and fight against the fascist forces who are brewing communal violence in the name of religion.”
In Achampet mandal of Nagarkurnool district, the Band was observed amidst protest of congress workers, where former congress MLA Dr. Vamshi Krishna took out a rally by pulling a diesel less tractor with two donkeys named KCR and Modi on their backs.
Speaking on the occasion Vamshi Krishna said, “During the 4 years of Modi government people in the country have to face tough time with regard to rising fuel prices and crumbling economy due to note ban. We are urging the people to oust the TRS and BJP who have broken the backs of common man.”
In Kollapur mandal of Nagarkurnool district all the leaders of congress, TDP, CPI held protest in front of bus depot and did not let the buses come out of the depot. The police intervened and arrested the agitating leaders and released them in the evening.
In Gadwal district, the congress leaders stopped all the buses in the depot for a brief period, however after police intervened the buses started plying normally without any disturbance.
The situation in Narayanpet, Kodangal, Jadcherla, Kalwakurthy everywhere the band was observed completely as everyone supported the opposition parties over the rising fuel prices. While talking on the occasion Yerrasekhar former MLA TDP from Jadcherla said, “The rising fuel prices have snowballed in the rise of prices of every commodity.
This has directly impacted the poor and the middle class people who are already reeling under tough economic conditions due to continuous crop loss for the past 2-3 years. We are demanding the Modi government to immediately bring petrol, diesel and gas prices under GST preview and provide the much need relief to them.”
