Demanding the governor of both Telugu speaking states ESL Narasimhan to intervene in the non bailable warrant issued to AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, TDP workers staged a protest in Hyderabad today.

The arrest warrant was issued to 17 people including the AP chief minister in connection with Babli project agitation in 2010 by Dharmabad court of Maharashtra. The court also passed the orders to present before the bench on September 21.

The TDP workers also demanded the centre and Maharashtra to withdraw the case and seek an apology from the leaders. They also demanded caretaker Chief Minister KCR to intervene in the matter as two former TRS MLAs also involved in the case. Former Karimnagar MLA G Kamalakar, former Peddapalle MLA Vijayaramarao who had been floated to TRS from TDP party were also issued notices. The protestors also alleged it was the move of TRS party by joining hands with BJP.

Besides the leaders, Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and Social Welfare Minister N Anand Babu and few others are also among them who have been issued arrest warrant.

The case was registered against the leaders in 2010 by Pune police for protesting against the construction of Babli project. The then TDP leaders alleged that the project was built with an intention to divert Godavari water from Telangana.
