Hyderabad: Dr Yogeswara Rao, former Adviser, Office of PSA to the Government of India, stressed on the importance of translating research done at CSIR labs into applications and products for the upliftment of the nation and its economy in a meeting held at CSIR-Centre for Cellular & Molecular Biology here on Friday. Dr Yogeswara Rao, along with Dr Rakesh Mishra, Director of CCMB, launched Atal Incubation Centre’s website and released the brochure of this premier life-sciences incubator for startups.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Rakesh Mishra said, “If India has to become a developed nation, young entrepreneurs have to be identified and groomed from the student community. AIC-CCMB is a definitive major step in this direction”.

Dr N Madhusudhana Rao, CEO of AIC-CCMB said, “The AIC website will be a platform for giving the public an idea of the work done by biotechnology and life-sciences startups. An innovation in life-sciences is critical to improving the quality of life for the entire nation, especially for early detection of diseases and bringing down costs of healthcare. The website features information about our facilities, our mentors & partners and the companies incubating with us. Also, prospective incubatees can directly download application form or get in touch with us via the website.”

AIC-CCMB was setup last year under the Atal Innovation Mission of the NITI Aayog to promote entrepreneurship among scientists and researchers. The centre currently houses eleven startups and is a part of the vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem of Telangana.
