Kothagudem: Anganvadi Workers Union (AITUC) national General Secretary N Vijaya Lakshmi demanded the government to solve the mini anganvadi workers’ issues immediately.
On Sunday, she visited the temple town Bhadrachalam and participated in the padayatra for the issues of the mini anganwadi workers in the State at the Ambedkar Centre.
The padayatra was started at Bhadrachalam and will end at the district headquarters of the Kothagudem.
The closing day programme of the padayatra will be conducted in the coal town Kothagudem on Monday, she said.
Earlier, she garlanded statues of the tribal leaders of the Gantam Dora, Alluri Sita Rama Raju, andMallu Dora.
Speaking on the occasion, she criticised the government for not solving the issues of mini anganvadi workers.
For many years the mini anganwadi workers have toiling on the nominal salaries and the governments are not responding to their demands, she added.
She also appealed to the government to give all facilities like Rs 10 lakh insurance, personal loans, summer holidays, health cards, karunya recruitments and others to the workers immediately.
State AITUC president Sita Maha laxmi, Sramika Mahila Forum state president Prem Pavani, CPI state secretariat member Ravulapalli Ram Prasad, AITUC district president N Prasad, G Satyanarayana, leaders of the union M Laxmi Kumari, Thammala Venkateswara Rao (TV), KVenkateswara Rao, K Jamalaiah, V Mallikarjun, Reddy Arun and Shanker attended the meeting.
