Hanamkonda: Combined Warangal District Congress Committee (DCC) president Naini Rajender Reddy said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is trying to create terror among the Opposition ranks by deploying all kinds of tactics.

Speaking at the Warangal West constituency level meeting at the party office in Hanamkonda on Wednesday, Rajender Reddy said that all the Congress leaders and activists have been facing lots of threats since the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) gained the power in 2014.

“Despite the threats from the TRS government, the Congress cadres are moving forward with a lot of courage and I congratulate them for their audacity for remaining in the party,” Reddy said.

The ruling party MLA Vinaya Bhaskar and his brother corporator Vijaya Bhaskar are resorting to land grabs and are attacking those, who dare them, he alleged. The DCC chief warned that they will not keep quiet if the TRS leaders continue to carry assaults on Congress cadres. He reminded that they had submitted a memorandum to the Commissioner of Police V Ravinder in this regard.

“Once the Congress returns to the power in the ensuing elections, both the brothers will face the music for their misdeeds. Despite the magics and gimmicks of the TRS, the Congress is sure to win the Warangal West constituency in the upcoming elections,” Reddy added.

He said that fearing defeat in the upcoming elections, the TRS ensured deletion of names of those favour Congress in the voters’ list. He told the division presidents and booth committee members to take the initiative and ensure the re-entry of the Congress activists’ names in the voters’ lists as soon as possible. Playing down the surveys of the TRS, Reddy termed it as trash as the people are in favour of Congress.

Reddy exhorted the party activists to resolve any intra-party differences only by sitting across the table but not to take them to the streets. He said that All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi had assured that party tickets would be given only to those who worked for the development of the party, while the Congress is out of power.

He advised the cadre of the Warangal West constituency to work together no matter whoever gets party ticket. Later, Reddy made the Congress leaders and cadres to vow for the success of the party.

Senior leaders Katla Srinivas Rao, Errabelli Swarna, Vem Narender Reddy, Md Mazid Khan, EV Srinivas Rao, Bathini Srinivas Rao, Ravali, R Narsimha Reddy, Lingam Mounika Charan Reddy, Jakkula Rama Ravinder Yadava and S Chandraiah were among others present.
