Vikarabad: District Collector Syed Umar Jeleel said that the state election commission gave an opportunity to enrol all the eligible candidates into voters list before September 25. Even, those who already enrolled may also check whether their name is in the list or not, collector said. He participated in the awareness programme organised for the disabled, here at MPDO conference hall on Sunday. He appealed the associations working for the disabled to see all the eligible should franchise their votes. Speaking on the occasion, the collector said that the constitution provides right to vote for all citizens and those who completed 18 years of age should enrol into the voter list.
As per the instructions of state election commission, a special drive for the disabled is being organised, he added. One passport photo and Aadhar card are enough to enrol in the list, collector said. He told them to check their name is included in the list by consulting BLOs in respective polling booths. “You have to inform BLO about the disability so that arrangements will be made accordingly,” the collector said.
Speaking on the occasion, DRDO Jhonson said that all the associations working for the disabled in the DRDO limits are integrated to create awareness and enrolment. He advised them to visit the election commission website to very inclusion, correction, and missing of names in the list. Local tahasildar Chinnappala Naidu, MPDO Sathiah and others were present.
