Hyderabad: Rudra Ravikumar (35), a journalist working for HMTV died on the spot when the motorbike he was riding accidently fell in a pit on the service road of Outer Ring Road at Raviryala at 9:30 pm on Tuesday. The pit, which claimed the scribe’s life, was the result of removal of a speed breaker. Speed breakers were removed for the public meeting of Kongarkalan. Later, it was filled with mud.

Several accidents took place as commuters and bike riders could not see the pit. This time HMTV reporter lost his life due to the negligence of the official machinery. He is survived by wife and two children. His final rites were performed at ‘Hindu Smasana Vatika’, here on Wednesday.

The management and staff of HMTV, The Hans India and journalist fraternity paid tributes to the scribe. Journalists of Ibrahimpatnam paid homage to Ravikumar. Ravi Kumar who was over six feet in height was a hardworking and ever smiling journalist. Former home minister Sabita Indra Reddy, RR district TUWJ president Shekar Sagar, TEMJU state president Ismail, HMTV input editor Krishna, staff reporter Ramana and others were among those who paid tributes to the journalist.
