Kothagudem: District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini has said that education and healthcare are the top priorities for him. After taking charge as a District Collector, for the first time met the media persons on Friday. He said, his administration is giving top utmost importance to education and health of people in the district. Earlier, he worked as the Collector in other states including West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.

About preparations for the Assembly elections, he said the enrolment of the voters is going on smoothly across the district. The officials are conducting awareness camps and training programme in all villages in this regard. As many as 50,000 new enrolment forms have been received so far, he informed.

The Collector explained the welfare program of Mission BhaghIratha and other schemes in the meeting. He also discussed the issue of Podu land in the district. He ordered the Integrated Tribal Development Agency Project Officer to deal with the issue. Rajat Saini said the district administration is all measures to prevent the spread of the seasonal diseases.

Meetings are regularly conducted with health officers regarding dengue, malaria and other diseases. Preventive measures are being taken at village and mandal level and awareness programmes regarding cleanliness and sanitation by the departments across the district, he added. He appealed to all to co-operate for the development of the district.
