Musheerabad: President of all India Student Federation of India (SFI) Sanu alleged that BJP government has been adopting anti-education policies since it formed government at center. He was speaking at SFI meeting held on the eve of SFI national meet to be held at Simla from October 30 to November 2, at Sundaraiah Vignan Kendram here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that quality education is not being given due to prejudices in the society.

Only when everyone gets the same education, social inequalities will be ameliorated, he opined. He expressed his fear that corporatization of education may result in rich getting better education while poor remaining deprived of quality education. Sanu alleged that BJP government is adopting anti-education policies such as reducing autonomy of universities and filing cases against those who raise their voices against their policies.

Citing recent student elections where leftist unions have registered victories, he said that this was an indication that students were fed up with BJP’s policies. He lamented that central government is not providing necessary facilities to soldiers and is responsible for loss of lives. He called activists to observe October 8 as “Surgical Strike day” in protest against government apathy. Among those participated in the meeting include SFI state secretary Kota Ramesh, SFI city president Ashok Reddy, secretary Kranthi Ranadive and other activists.
