Mahbubnagar: Nationa Federation of India for Women national general secretary Annie Raja on Friday called upon women to be aware of their basic rights and rise to fight against gender inequality.

The woman activist said since ages women have been deprived of the their basic rights by the male domination society, and even today, they are still being deprived of their rights in the name of gender, cast, religion and exploited at work. “There is a huge gender bias in our country. It starts right from our families and expands largely in the society.

Women though historically have extended their equal share of contribution in terms of fighting for freedom and various other social causes, it is sorry to say they are looked down up on and deprived of their rights just because of gender difference,” said Aniraja, while addressing a gathering at Telangana Chowrasta in Mahbubnagar on Friday.

“Be it family or society, every where the women folks are exploited and suppressed in education, employment, politics and in every aspect. Therefore we have set out to spread the awareness among the women to fight for their constitutional rights,” she said.

AniRaja, a women’s activists and social worker who is striving for the upliftment of women folks in the country has set out for a country wide awareness campaign starting from Kanyakumari on 22 Setptember and have travelled Tamilnadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, reroute to Delhi, the ‘Jata’ will tour Chattisgarh, Uttarpradesh and reach Delhi on 13th October.

Expressing her concern AniRaja, said that with rising incidents violence against women, India has entered into the list of countries where it is not safe for women.
