Hyderabad: Leaders of the proposed grand alliance on Saturday announced that they would come out with a common minimum programme (CMP) in a day or two.

The leaders met at a private hotel in the city and discussed the CMP. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Telugu Desam Party president L Ramana, Telangana Jana Samithi president Kodandaram and CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy participated in the meeting.

Speaking to the media, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the CMP would reflect the aspirations of the people. He exuded confidence that the grand alliance would form the government. He denied that the Congress party had announced a list of candidates as was projected by a section of media. He said the Election Commission was silent when the model code of conduct is being violated. He wondered how caretaker Ministers can participate in government programmes.

He said that the Congress party would lodge complaints with the Chief Election Commissioner and the President of India. He alleged that the officials had failed to create property awareness about the EVMs.

Kodandaram said the objective of the alliance is to realise the aspirations of the Telangana movement. He said the dictatorial regime of K Chandrashekara Rao should be voted out.

Kodandaram said the CMP of the alliance would be announced by October 2. The alliance would put the common manifesto before the people. He said no discussions were been held on seats. He refuted the reports that he had met BJP leader Dattatreya and discussed the formation of alliance with that party.

Chada Venkat Reddy said the SC, ST and BCs have been facing hardships in the present government. He said they would lodge a complaint with the EC on the violation of model code of conduct.

Venkat Reddy said there is a common view among the alliance partners. He said no decision was held on seat adjustments.

L Ramana said the Chief Minister has turned the State into debt- ridden one which was having a surplus budget when formed. He said the Chief Minister has been trying to eliminate the opposition parties from the state. He said the alliance partners would see that the Chief Minister turn his farm house his permanent residence.
