Awareness on VVPATs

Hyderabad: The Election Commission of India has directed to use 100 per cent Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trial (VVPATs) in all elections. He asked officials to ensure proper awareness on use of VVPATs with Electronic Voting Machine (EVMs).
As per the Election Commission of India, it has been decided to establish a total of 58 EVM and VVPAT awareness centers in Hyderabad district for creating awareness among the general public. There will be 48 EVM/VVPAT awareness centres at all the 15 Assembly Constituencies of Hyderabad district. One in ground floor at Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) head office and nine mobile model polling stations for three zones of Hyderabad district.
Armed police bandobast has been arranged at all the 52 awareness centers and two armed guards at each centre. All the senior officers have been appointed as the in charge officers for the awareness centres. The awareness programme will be taken up from 10am to 5pm.
