Musheerabad: Telangana Rhythu Sangham activists staged a protest at RTC Cross Roads on Wednesday and burnt an effigy of Central government. They were protesting against the police lathi charge unleashed on farmers who were on way to hold mega protests against the government at Delhi.

They condemned the Central government for allowing lathi charge, firing of tear gas shells and water cannons to stop the farmers from staging peaceful protests for implementation of Swaminathan Committee recommendations. Speaking on the occasion, leaders of the association, said that as many as 12,500 farmers were committing suicides every year due to debts.

If farmers’ demands were not fulfilled, they would lay siege to Delhi on October 28 and would disrupt Parliament, they warned the Central government. Among those participated in the protest include AIKS vice president Sarampalli Malla Reddy, Sagar Telangana Rhythu Sangham secretary Sai Baba and other farmer leaders.
