64th Vanya Prani Saptah being held at Nehru Zoological Park

Bahadurpura: “64th Vanya Prani Saptah and 55th Zoo Day celebrations were held at Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad, on Thursday. The Vanya Prani week is being observed from October 2 to 7. As a part of the celebrations various educational programmes like drawing and essay writing competitions were conducted for the school children on September 26 wherein 23 schools including 21 government and 2 private schools participated in the competitions. On October 2 ‘Swachh Zoo Abhiyaan’ was organized on the premises of Nehru Zoological Park where all the staff members participated in the and took oath that they would keep the zoo premises clean and tidy from time to time.

Sports like cricket, kabaddi, musical chairs (for women), lemon & spoon (for women), chess were organised for animal keepers, garden staff, security staff including administrative staff of Nehru Zoological Park. Wildlife awareness programmes like animal talk shows, awareness programme on birds, elephant, chimpanzee, crocodiles, snakes, including big cats (tiger, lion, jaguar and panther) with simultaneous interaction of veterinary team and animal keepers with visitors is being organised in the week October 2 - 7.

“55th Zoo Day” celebrations will be held on October 6, on this occasion several animal talk shows, prize distribution for the winners of the events, zoo brochure, mouse deer brochure will be released and the “KVS Babu” gallantry award will be awarded to the best employees of the zoo.
