Kothagudem: The electoral officials on Monday were trained to identify and help deaf and dumb and physically challenged people to cast votes on the poling day. The District Collector, Joint Collector and Returning Officer also attended the probramm.

At the programme, the district Deaf and Dumb Association president Ramlinga Reddy and vice president Laxman give demonstrations through their performances how to notice the deaf and dumb people and how to help them cast their votes.

Collector Rajat Kumar Saini asked officials to arrange separate cells for the physically challenged and deaf and dumb people so that they could cast their votes in the elections. In every polling booth an assistant must be deputed to help the physically challenged people on the polling day. Also make arrangements for their transportation, he added.
