Vikarabad: Following the declaration of election schedule for Telangana Assembly, the district administration has started monitoring the electioneering for any violations to the code of conduct. Model Codes of Conduct (MCC) teams have been formed under the leadership of DFO Venu Madhava Rao for the purpose.

District officials have been busy submitting daily reports to election commission till now. But, with code of conduct coming into effect, they are now focusing on monitoring code violations. As part of this monitoring, the teams will be keenly observing the election campaigns of various political candidates, social media posts, and financial transactions.

Election notification will be released on November 12, but some political parties have already begun campaigning vigorously. District Collector Syed Umar Jaleel instructed the election officials to take necessary measures to start monitoring violations of code of conduct as soon as the election schedule is announced. MCC teams have already started collecting information about any possible violations. Police intelligence teams are also closely observing election campaigns of major parties.

So far, only TRS party has declared its candidates for three constituencies of the district – Tandur, Parigi and Kodangal. The party is yet to declare its candidate for Vikarabad Constituency. TRS is far ahead of other parties in campaigning.

The Congress, on the other hand, seems to be lagging behind with IT raids on Revanth Reddy on the very first day of its campaign. With the declaration of election schedule, all the parties are in a rush to declare their candidates. It is expected that election campaigns will get intense after October 10.

Meanwhile, election staff is busy taking all the measures to ensure that there are no code violations in the district. MCC teams are busy collecting videos and newspaper clippings related to election campaign.

If any violations were observed, the teams would report the incidents to the Election Commission (EC). Election officials will also focus on social service activities that attempt to garner votes. They will also focus on secret dinners, transfers of money and liquor supplies during the election period.
