Kothagudem: District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini has asked the master trainees to fully understand the process of conducting elections. He was addressing a training programme for master trainees on polling duty on Friday. Two master trainers with the experience of previous elections trained the polling officers.

'The role of master trainers is important. Even the smallest detail plays an important role in conducting the polling. Therefore, those on polling duty must pay attention to every detail and discuss them among colleagues so that they could remember the details” Saini noted.

There were about 995 polling centres in Kothagudem and they would be monitored by 85 electoral officials. Every electoral official would monitor 12 polling stations. Every polling official must have well designed plan to conduct the polls so that everything moves on smoothly, the Collector explained.

He told the master trainees to be ready to conduct training classes in different Assembly constituencies. The training sessions would likely be completed by the end of this month, Saini noted.

Mobile phones would not be allowed at the polling booths. Every polling centre would have about 1300 to 1400 votes. About 3,000 votes could be cast with each EVM and VVPATs would have a paper roll to print about 1500 slips.

DRO Kiran Kumar, DRDO Jagatkumar Reddy, DEO D Vaasanthi, Irrigation officer Venkateshwar Reddy, the trainer of master trainers, Narsimha Rao and others were present.
