##BIG-IMAGE#Nampally: Tradehyd.com in association with an NGO Peddigari Foundation which began a three-day Maha Udyoga Mela at Exhibition Grounds in Nampally on Friday left job seekers bitterly disappointed, by not keeping promises of lucrative job offerings. Thousands of applicants thronged the venue to appear for interviews. Candidates from nearby states also visited the mela on the first day.

But the applicants were soon fuming. They said each application form is being sold for Rs 50 to Rs 100 but no interviews were conducted by any company. They staged protest at the venue and later spilled on to the road to demand action against the organisers. Police officials rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

K Ramesh, an applicant from Vijayawada, said that notification and ads were issued since August about this 3-day Maha Udyoga Mela, claiming around 35,000 jobs were up for grabs. The applicants were also promised that national and international companies were taking part in the mela. But to their dismay, no such companies were taking part in the mela. Only local companies were taking interviews for sales and marketing positions.

Speaking to media persons, Additional DCP Ganga Reddy said that the mela organisers did not take police permission and that the mela was wound up on the first day itself. One of the job mela executives was taken into custody and further investigation was on, he added.
