Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Monday said that the TRS government would provide water to 1 lakh acres in Andole Assembly constituency.

Rao was speaking at a gathering where Congress leaders from Andole constituency joined TRS at Telangana Bhavan on Monday. He said that there was no need to look towards sky for rains as people were now assured of getting water because of efforts of TRS government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, he added.

Harish Rao attacked the Congress leaders for creating hurdles in the way of irrigation projects. “The Congress leaders talk exactly opposite to what the TRS says. We are striving for surplus power, but the Congress leaders say that they will stop Yadadri power project.

They said Kalyana Lakshmi will be closed and Bangaru Talli will be brought. But, Bangaru Talli would provide the monetary benefit of just Rs 3,000. They oppose everything,” said Harish Rao, adding that 90 per cent works of Kaleshwaram project were completed, but the Congress says it would stop the project.

The TRS leader lashed out at the BJP chief Amit Shah for stating that they would come to power in Telangana, and asked him to concentrate on the States like Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh. He said that it would be a great achievement if BJP leaders could retain their five seats.

He also targeted the Central Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari for stating that TRS government did not seek national project status to Kaleshwaram.

Rao clarified that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao visited Delhi thrice and asked national project status to Kaleshwaram.

Stating that Andole candidate Kranti was from a poor family and cannot spend money, the TRS leader asked people to support him in the ensuing elections.
