MBT president, Majeedullah Khan Farhat on Monday challenged MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for live debate over Wakf properties and other important issues which remain a matter of concern for Old Citys population
Yakutpura: MBT president, Majeedullah Khan Farhat on Monday challenged MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for live debate over Wakf properties and other important issues which remain a matter of concern for Old City’s population.
Speaking at a public meeting organised at Dhobighat in Yakutpura on Sunday night, Majeedullah Khan invited Hyderabad MP for a live debate over important issues and to leave the decision to the people as to whom they will vote on the day of election. He held that this kind of exercise would not only save money of MIM, but also energy of party candidates who were never seen in constituencies to address people’s problem. “They can save Rs 10 crore which are being spent in this constituency for these elections,” he noted.
Alleging that MIM leaders amassed wealth during the last few decades, MBT president said that those who are living in palaces worth Rs 200 crore cannot understand the problems of common man. He said that the economic conditions of generations who voted for MIM remained same, but those who were voted for became millionaires. “Neither Asaduddin nor Akbar or any other party MLA worked selflessly, which could be proved by the fact the way they became millionaires during the last few decades, but the economic condition of constituents remained the same” he alleged.
Further the leader alleged that voter list was being managed at almost all the constituencies of the Old City with the connivance of the local officials. According to Majeedullah Khan each of the constituency has between 30,000 to 60,000 bogus votes which despite several complaints to the Election Commission were not being properly verified. “Since these leaders cannot win a genuine poll, they made grounds with bogus votes,” he added.
Taking a dig at the ‘false’ election promises of TRS like 12 percent Muslim reservation, the MBT president held that Muslims does not need any kind of reservation, but they want their rights. He noted that be it the spending of total budget or protection of Wakf properties and utilisation of same for wellbeing of Muslims would be more than enough, if the government was serious for the upliftment of the poor Muslims. “As per the Central Wakf Council report about 90 percent of the Wakf land was encroached, if the government was serious it should protect this. I challenge that MIM leadership make this a serious case for the election and I am ready to debate on this with Asaduddin, let the people decide,” he emphasised.
