Karimnagar: Commissioner of Police VB Kamalasan Reddy appealed the villagers not to create problems to the programmes conducted by the political parties and not to obstruct campaigns taken up by the candidates of various political parties, which would fall under violation of Model Code of Conduct as per the orders issued by the Election Commission of India.

The CP held counselling for those, who were involved in various cases and to those on whom bind over cases were registered under Karimnagar Rural police station, in Karimnagar on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Police Commissioner said that all necessary steps were taken for the smooth conduct of elections in a peaceful atmosphere along with lodging bind over cases against those, on whom cases were already registered.

Persons, who have bind over cases against them, will have to pay Rs 1 lakh penalty and imprisonment if they are involved in any case. Tying banners on government offices and buildings along with fixing posters and stickers are prohibited. Candidates should take prior permission from the owners of private buildings to fix their posters and to paint writings on the walls.

Individuals are allowed to carry Rs 1 lakh only for their needs for which there is no objection from the police. But if they have more than Rs 1 lakh cash with them then they must submit the details like the purpose of holding that much amount.

The leaders of various political parties should get permission for conducting publicity, through Suvidha App online. They would be given permission within 48 hours after applying through online.

Distributing gifts, money and liquor and threatening of voters will come under violation of the Model Code of Conduct and action would be taken against the persons concerned as per law.

Karimnagar Rural Inspector Shashidar Reddy, three town inspector Vijay Kumar, SIs Chandrashekar and Srinivas Rao were present along with others.
