Hyderabad: Pegasystems Inc, the software company empowering customer engagement, celebrated Children’s Day by holding multiple competitive events over several weeks on its campus. The participants included primary school students across the Hyderabad region from its Pega Teach for Change programme, a key Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of the company. Bollywood actress Nidhhi Agerwal presented awards to the winning children of month-long inter-school competitions.

As part of the competitions, hundreds of children from Pega Teach For Change partner schools competed in multiple events over several weeks, including painting and role-playing of inspirational visionaries. Over 200 children qualified for the final round on Sunday when they competed at Pega’s Hyderabad facility. The Pega Teach for Change program is focused on enhancing the quality of education for government school students.

This joint program between Pega and Teach for Change, an NGO that specialises in training primary and secondary government school students in leadership skills and English, offers an opportunity for holistic training and development with added focus on computer literacy. Overall, the Pega programme focuses on empowering government school students between grades 3 and 5 across cities including – Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vizag and Bangalore. “Now in our second year of the Pega Teach for Change program, the event today has surpassed our expectations of what children from local government schools can achieve” said Suman Reddy Eadunuri, MD, Pegasystems India. “Our efforts have created a sustainable education and leadership platform for students to realize their dreams on par with peers from private schools, and we are thrilled to be a part of that journey,” he added.
