Congress leader’s wife tries immolation

Kothagudem: Tension prevailed in Kothagudem as TPCC member Yedavalli Krishna’s wife Y Sushila expressed her anger over denial of ticket to her husband in a rather shocking manner.

She attempted suicide by dousing herself with kerosene at their residence in Kothagudem and threatened to set herself on fire. But the followers of Krishna stopped her from taking any extreme step.

According to sources, the drama was played when the followers and sons of Congress candidate from Kothagudem Vanama Ramakrishna Rao visited the TPCC member Krishna’s house. They tried to pacify Krishna and sought his support.

But Krishna’s wife Sushila did not allow Vanama's kin inside their house and demanded them go away and warned that if they did not leave she would kill herself.

While Vanama’s supporters and sons were trying to persuade Krishna, she poured kerosene on herself and threatened to commit suicide if they did not leave the premises.

Further, Krishna reportedly lodged a complaint at the local police station against Vanama'a kin accusing them of making an attempt to murder him.
