Kothagudem: The CPI workers went on a rampage against the party’s decision to give away Kothagudem seat to Congress.

A group of irate CPM workers vent their anger on furniture during a party meeting in the coal town. They protested over the party leadership’s decision to let the Kothagudem seat go to the Congress candidate V Venkateshwara Rao as part of seat sharing.

It needs to be mentioned here that CPIhad been demanding the Kothagudem seat from the Mahakutami claiming it had strong vote bank and also presence in the SCCL and controlled trade unions in the coal company. But the big brother Congress ignored its claim and grabbed the seat.

When the CPI leadership met on Friday, the party workers expressed their anger over their inability to put their claim effectively before the Kutami partners. They demanded the party leaders to convince leaders of Praja Kutami to field ex-MLA K Sambasiva Rao in Kothagudem.

Interestingly, a section of Congress party was also against fielding Venkateshwara Rao for Kothagudem Assembly seat.
