Hyderabad : Congress candidate from Gajwel Assembly segment Vonteru Pratap Reddy on Friday said he would defeat Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in the assembly elections in his constituency and gift the constituency to party supremo Sonia Gandhi.
He made these remarks while addressing a massive gathering of party workers and leaders at a Medchal public meeting. Speaking on the occasion, he said the Congress and TDP governments conducted several DSCs for the unemployed youth in the past. ‘While the TDP conducted nine DSCs, the Congress conducted five DSCs. But the TRS government did not conduct even one DSC so far,” he said. Prathap Reddy alleged that the suicides of farmers had gone up in the State under KCR rule. Noting that KCR had conducted Intensive Household Survey (IHS) within one month of formation of the government, he asked the CM about the whereabouts of the report of the Survey.
He said the CM did not talk about drought in his entire tenure despite the fact that the State reeled under severe drought many times. He also targeted KCR’s daughter K. Kavitha and alleged that the TRS MP looted crores of rupees of public money in the name of Bathukamma festival. He urged the people to join hands to defeat KCR’s feudal rule in the State.
