Hyderabad: After completion of withdrawal of nominations, 313 candidates were in the fray, said District Electoral Officer (DEO) and GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore in a press note issued on Tuesday. He stated that utmost care has been taken for printing of Ballot Papers without any mistake and instructions were issued to thoroughly verify after receiving them from the Government Printing Press.
Regarding electoral rolls, the DEO informed that all the claims and objections received up to November 9, were disposed and the Electoral Rolls were generated which includes Mother Roll and Supplement 1 and 2. About 96,784 number of electors have been enrolled and added to the electoral roll in supplement-II. Instructions have been given to all the Returning Officer for supply one complete set of electoral rolls to contesting candidates and recognized political parties free of cost.
He said that due to continuous updation of electoral rolls and inclusion of voters up to November 19, the Returning Officers have proposed seven additional auxiliary polling stations and the proposals were submitted to the CEO. A total number of 3,873 polling stations have been arranged for conduct of elections on December 7.
On postal ballot, the press note said that so far 4988 postal ballots have been dispatched to the staff on election duty and further distribution was under process.
The statutory and non-statutory material required for conduct of elections has been distributed to all the Returning Officers.
Preparation of Electoral Rolls
Immediately after dispatch of Postal Ballot papers duly marking in the electoral rolls, the preparation of marked copies of electoral rolls would be taken up. For which, the RO will authorize two officers for preparation and authenticating all pages of the marked copies. The RO would prepare 6 sets of marked copies (2 - copies to be supplied to POs, 1- copy to be kept with RO, 1- copy to be submitted to the DEO, 1- copy to the CEO and 1- copy to Observer.
The roll reprinted to reflect deletions and corrections in the Supplements 1 & 2, shall be thoroughly compared to see that while striking through the deleted entry by a horizontal line in the electoral roll of eight columns and with the word “deleted” superimposed on the concerned elector detail box in case of photo electoral roll or carrying out corrections or inserting the unique Nos. of the EPICs issued up to the time of reprinting no other entry is either deleted or altered or omitted.
PVC EPIC cards distribution
The CEO, TS - office has arranged printing of 1,91,510 EPIC cards to the newly enrolled electors which have been already distributed to the electors through BLOs. The Citizen Service Centres are in operation in the O/o EROs of (15) ACs for issue of Colour PVC EPIC in ERO’s Office. Wide publicity was being arranged in their circle, assembly constituency about the issue of PVC Colour EPICs in the ERO office.
Distribution of photo voter’s slips
As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, tenders have been called for, and agencies have been identified for printing and supply of Photo Voter’s Slips. Trainings have been conducted to the BLOs/BLAs and BLO supervisors assembly constituency wise from November 20 to 25, on distribution of photo voter slips, voter guide, and EPIC cards to the newly enrolled voters in a systematic manner.
Returning Officers have distributed colour PVC EPICs and Photo Voter Slips and Voter guide through Booth Level Officers under the supervision of BLO supervisors from Nov 26 to Dec 1. 40,57,488 number of photo voter slips have been distributed to electors for identifying their polling station.
Preparation of ASD List
After completion of distribution of voter slips, the BLOs will prepare the ASD (absent, Shifted, death/duplicate) list and furnish the same to ROs under intimation to the DEO for onward supply to the presiding Officers. The un-distributed Photo Voter Slips would kept under the safe custody of Returning Officers.
