Telangana Jana Samithi TJS chief Prof Kodandaram condemned the arrest of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee TPCC Working President A Revanth Reddy, terming it as uncalledfor by the ruling TRS
Warangal: Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) chief Prof Kodandaram condemned the arrest of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Working President A Revanth Reddy, terming it as uncalled-for by the ruling TRS.
a press conference, along with Warangal West Telugu Desam candidate Revuri Prakash Reddy, here on Tuesday, he criticised the TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao for suppressing the voice of Opposition leaders.
“The midnight arrest of Revanth Reddy indicates the highhandedness of the TRS government. Predicting the victory of People’s Front (Praja Kutami), the TRS leadership, which is desperate to win the election, is trying all kinds of tricks. This is nothing but suppression of democracy,” Prof Kodandaram said. If the situation is like this even before the election, what would be the fate of the Opposition leaders if TRS retains power, he said, appealing to people not to give second opportunity to KCR.
The TJS chief alleged that KCR is trying to terrorise the Opposition leaders by foisting false cases. He appealed to people to vote for People’s Front candidates to save the State from the clutches of KCR. Responding to a question, he said that an inquiry would be conducted into the irregularities in the commissioning of ongoing irrigation projects in the State.
“Our aim is to reduce the inflated costs of irrigation projects,” he said. He said the TRS government had increased the costs of the irrigation projects in the name of redesigning and that would be probed.
