Hyderabad: It is almost a verbal battlefield scenario in Telangana State with political parties and their representatives launching salvos and scathing attacks against rivals, especially in the city with candidates intensifying election campaign for the December 7 Assembly polls. To win the hearts of the people, some of the political parties have added star quotient by roping in cine actors inclined to politics and those having their kith and kin in the fray. Also, the political parties are raining freebies in the name of welfare schemes to attract voters. The contestants are leaving no stone unturned to woo people to cast votes in their favour.

To win over the rivals, the candidates in their respective constituencies are actively campaigning interacting with the locals to know the problems in the constituency and civic issues plaguing the residents. All party candidates are undertaking door-to-door campaigns promising to resolve all issues if they are voted to power. However, the voters wonder if voted to power, will they ever come to their doors again?

Ranganatham, a vegetable vendor from Uppal, said, “It seems a festive fervour with the politicos wearing gears of all kinds of hues visiting their homes and colonies. Moreover, they are keen on knowing the civic issues in colonies. But as far as I am concerned there is no leader who return to the areas after elections. Now I am 55-year-old, I have seen many leaders who promised to address the problems in the colonies, but no one has turned to resolve the issues.” He said that the leaders should stick to their words fulfilling the promises made to voters.
