All arrangements in place for polling

Mahbubnagar: District Collector Ronald Rose conducted final review on the poll preparedness in Mahbubnagar district and later conducted an inspection of polling equipment distribution centre at BRR Degree College in Jadcherla mandal on Thursday.

While speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that in every constituency at least 3 polling stations were converted into model polling stations and ensured that everything is put in place by providing the voters all the necessary facilities at their respective polling stations.

Out of 1312 polling stations across 5 major constituencies of Mahbubnagar district the Election Commission in the district has decided to convert 15 polling stations into model polling stations. In these polling stations all facilities like drinking water, power, wheel chairs for physically handicapped are provided. The EC is providing to and fro travel facilities for the disabled and old age in all these polling stations.

Apart from providing facilities to the voters, the district administration has also arranged elaborate police security at all the polling stations so as to ensure a smooth and peaceful polling process in the district.

So far, the district administration has appointed 151 electoral officers, 1446 assistant polling officers (APO), 2,892 OPOs and 1,446 polling officers. Overall, about 5,784 officials have been deployed for conducting a smooth and peaceful polling on Friday.

Apart from providing elaborate security measures, the election officials’ have also installed CCTV cameras to regularly monitor the polling process and gauge the situation from time to time.
