Medak: The erstwhile Medak district once again proved the stronghold for TRS party. Ten out of the 11 legislative constituencies in the Sangareddy, Siddipet and Medak districts have gone in favour of the pink party. Harish Rao, who got highest majority and party’s chief KCR also won from the constituencies in the old Medak district. Except Sangareddy, TRS got no resistance from its opponents. Turpu Jayaprakash Reddy (INC) bagged this constituency with a small margin.

Harish Rao, who won sixth time from Siddipet, garnered more than one lakh votes. Earlier, the record was 95, 000 votes earned by him in 2010 by-election. Bhupal Reddy in Narayankhed, V Sathish Kumar from Husnabad, Padma Devender Reddy from Medak, Solipet Ramalinga Reddy from Dubbaka, G Mahipal Reddy from Patancheru also broke their previous highest majority mark. KCR also has a credit of his own. This is second time he contested and won from Gajwel constituency. He won with a margin of 58,290 votes in these elections. Surprisingly, this is the highest majority in the constituency of 16 elections since 1952. The previous highest mark was 24,260 votes by Geetha Reddy in 2004.

In Narspaur, Madan Reddy won with a majority of 38,120 votes against his opponent Sunitha Lakshma Reddy. This is the highest margin in the constituency so far. The earlier highest mark was 25,817 votes by Sunitha against the same Madan Reddy. Though Manik Rao from Zaheerabad, Kranthi Kiran from Andole could not break the highest record mark, they won against senior Congress leaders and former ministers and significantly first time they are entering the Assembly. The only seat that was lost by TRS is Sangareddy. Jayaprakash Reddy of Congress won against Ch Prabhakar with a small margin of 2,589 votes. This is the second lowest margin so far in the 14 elections.
