Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Working President K T Rama Rao on Tuesday asked the party workers to hold meetings at constituency level from December 22 and sort out the issue of missing names of voters from the list.

The TRS leader on Tuesday held a meeting with party’s general secretaries and asked the workers to take up voter enrolment from December 26 to January 6 before the Panchayat elections. Rao asked the general secretaries to take up extended level meetings at the constituency level and sort out the issue of missing names in the voters’ list.

“Many voters had to leave the polling booth without casting their votes because of absence of names in the voters’ list and this resulted in decrease in the majority of many candidates of the party. At some places even though the voters had the voter card they could not cast their vote. This needs to be sorted out,” Rao told the general secretaries.

The constituency level meetings would be attended by State general secretaries and secretaries. These meetings would be held from December 22 to 24 in the entire State. As per the instructions, a delegation of the TRS leaders led by MLC M Sreenivas Reddy and two other general secretaries would be meeting the Election Commission authorities, said party general secretary P Rajeshwar Reddy. He said that the party leaders would actively take part in the voter enrolment from December 26 to January 6.

Rajeshwar Reddy said that after meeting the EC authorities, guidelines would be given to the party leaders on voter enrolment. The agenda of the constituency level meetings would be to focus on enrolment of voters. The working president also discussed about the party offices in the districts. He said that already places were identified for having offices in districts and after taking permission from the party president the works would be started.

He said that they were working with a target of starting the construction of party offices in districts from January onwards. The party presently has offices in Hyderabad and Khammam and would now have in all the districts.
