​Hyderabad: Adilabad froze on Tuesday night with temperature plummeting to 5 degrees Celsius as cold wave continued its vice-like grip on Telangana. Day temperatures however improved by four to five degrees on Wednesday compared to last two days.

Adilabad shivered with minimum temperature plummeting to 5 degrees Celsius. People in Medak also had to dust their woolens out of the closets as temperatures dropped to 11 degrees, while situation in Ramagundam, Nizamabad and Warangal was no different. Minimum temperature of 13 degrees was recorded in readings taken on Wednesday morning across other places in Telangana.

However, there was some respite for people as sun came out in different parts of Telangana increasing day temperatures marginally. Hyderabad recorded day temperature (maximum) of 25 degrees, a jump of five degrees from Tuesday reading. Warangal, Khammam and Nizamabad also recorded 25 degrees maximum temperature.

Day temperature in Adilabad that recorded 5 degrees C minimum temperature early morning also showed an improvement. The maximum temperature recorded on Wednesday evening was 24 degrees Celsius. No rainfall was seen in any part of Telangana on Wednesday unlike 48 hours earlier when drizzle to moderate rain was witnessed.

IMD, Hyderabad Director, Y K Reddy said that weather and temperatures would improve to bring some respite from cold wave in the next few days.
