Khammam: District Collector RV Karnan asked the farmers not to agitate for their damaged crops as the government is going to help them. He said the government is there so extend support to all farmers therefore they do not need to protest for compensation.
He said the teams of the Agricultural officials are already on the job and assessing the extent of crop loss. He said the details of the purchasing centres for the destroyed paddy in the district are also received. During their inspection, the officials found that 470.360 tonnes of paddy were soaked during the unseasonal rains in 14 purchasing centres.
The soaked paddy are being purchased as per the norms of the government, he added. He also asked officers to take stock of destruction of the paddy due to unseasonal rains and other effects. All the departments are doing good job with co-ordination with each other for the assessing the loss of crops, said Karnan.
