Gita Jayanthi fete held with fervour

Banjara Hills: The Swayumbhu Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Golden Temple wore a festive look as hundreds of people from all corners of the city descended to mark Gita Jayanthi celebrations. The Gita Jayanthi celebrations began with Sampoorna Gita Parayanam from 9 am to 5 pm in which devotees did the recitation of total 700 slokas of Bhagavad Gita & at 6.30 pm in the evening there was a grand Gita recitation & Explanation of important slokas of Bhagavad Gita for the pleasure of Lord Krishna to bring in Peace & Prosperity to one & all.

Hare Krishna Movement-Hyderabad President Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa conveyed his good wishes on the coming New Year & said that Vaikunta Ekadasri being the very day when Lord Krishna delivered the knowledge of the Gita to His beloved devotee Arjuna 5,000 years back is commemorated as Gita Jayanti.
“Today we celebrated this auspicious day by chanting all the 700 slokas of the Gita and performing a Gita Homa which shall definitely bring World Peace & Prosperity by ushering Universal Brotherhood and fraternity. The message of the Gita is not only for a particular religion but it’s a universal appeal to one & all to come together all work harmoniously towards emancipation. One devotee sponsored 108 sets of Bhagavatham on this auspicious occasion and those books were given aspiring devotees. Sumptuous Prasadam was distributed throughout the day for all visiting devotees,” he said in a release.
