Adoption drive for stray dogs gets good response

Sainikpuri: An adoption drive for Indian dog breeds was conducted by Telangana Pet Adoption at Sainikpuri on Sunday where more than 65 dogs were adopted. “We got a good response from the adopters. We started Telangana Pet Adoption only a year ago. Our goal is to provide homes to rescued animals. We bring fosters and adopters together into a single platform. We are currently focusing on Indian breeds. We get in contact with fosters and fix a date with them for our adoption drive.

We share all the adoption details through online. People who are interested will come and adopt dogs they like,” said Vijaya Laxmi, one of the organizers. Information related to both fosters and adopters will be saved by the organization for future purposes. “We encourage people to adopt pets instead of buying them. We help them by providing homes to the homeless,” she added. “I always wanted to have a pet dog, but dogs are sold at high price in the market. Here, I can adopt the dog I like at a free of cost. I also feel happy for providing home to a rescued animal. I want to appreciate Telangana Pet Adoption for taking up the initiative to bring fosters and adopters of Indian dogs together,” said Aditya, a dog adopter.
