​Hyderabad: Top brass in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) retained their posts in the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s government for the second consecutive term. All the six senior officials working as Secretaries in the CMO have been playing a key role in the state administration and the fulfillment of the tasks set by the CM in every department. These officials were instrumental in making success of the Mission Bhagiratha, Rythu Bandhu, all welfare schemes and strengthening of Education and Health sectors in the state in the last four years.

Retired IFS official K Bhopal Reddy and IAS official S Narasing Rao are re- appointed as Special Secretary and Principal Secretary to chief minister and continue in the post with the terms and conditions as stipulated by the government.

The 2001 batch IAS official Smita Sabharwal has been posted as Secretary to CM. She has been given the big task of completion of the state’s flagship programme - Mission Bhagiratha. Grade one officer at the central services P Rajashekhar Reddy was re-appointed as Special Secretary to CM. Reddy was looking after the enforcement of CMRF (Chief Minister Relief Fund) and other CMO related issues.

The 1998 batch IAS official Sandeep Kumar Sultania and 2005 batch officer K Manicka Raj have been re- appointed as Additional Secretaries to the chief minister. All the six officials will be allocated fresh responsibilities soon after the total cabinet is in place.

Official sources said that KCR also decided to continue all the senior officials in the rank of Special Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary in their respective posts. Special Chief Secretaries - Ajay Mishra (Energy), Rajeshwar Tiwari (Land Revenue) and Principal Secretaries – Somesh Kumar (Commercial taxes and Excise and Prohibition), K Ramakrishna Rao (Finance), Sunil Sharma (Roads and Building) and Vikas Raj (Panchayat Raj and Rural Development) were already given fresh targets. Source said that the reshuffle of the state bureaucracy is unlikely to happen until the full cabinet is inducted in the KCR’s government.

It is learnt that the government is keen to reshuffle the district Collectors soon. In view of changing political equations post Assembly elections, Suryapet district Collector K Surendhra Mohan has already been transferred a week ago. Depending on political pressures, some more collectors are likely to be transferred.
