Kranthi Nagar: The residents of Kranti Nagar are worried a lot as heaps of garbage resurfaces on the main roads, in spite of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) workers picking up the garbage regularly. “There is no civic sense. Initially, they used to dispose garbage in street corners, but now it is disposed off on the main road,” said Sujatha, a resident of Kranthi Nagar. “When we complain to GHMC, they say that they are cleaning the roads every day, and by the next day people throw garbage again.

How this much of garbage gets accumulated on the road by afternoon if GHMC is cleaning the garbage in the morning? Who should take the responsibility for this? I think government should appoint people to see that no one disposes garbage on roads. Both GHMC workers and residents should take the responsibility of maintaining cleanliness on the road,” said Rajender, a private lecturer. The civic body distributed two bins for wet and dry waste, but people still dispose garbage in the open, said Rekha, a resident.
