Blankets distributed to needy in Bharat Nagar

Hyderabad: Deputy Commissioner V Mamatha distributed blankets to the homeless who stay put under the flyover at Bharat Nagar. The flyover has become a shelter to many of the homeless and elderly, including women. As the temperature in city continues to remain low, the officials decided to distribute blankets among poor. There is no procedure in government body to provide blankets to poor in the winter season.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner V Mamatha said, “This would allow us to reach to people who cannot manage to protect themselves from the bitter cold. We cannot understand their pain in the current situation.” The needy thanked the officials for providing blankets and asked permission to allow them to sleep in the market yard.
