Hyderabad: The pathway under the Panjagutta Metro Station is filled with plastic and food waste, and it is causing difficulties to the pedestrians. This is the only pathway to cross the road safely in one of the most hectic traffic routes in the city. “Due to the foul smell and garbage tossed all over the pathway, the people are avoiding the path and sneaking through the vehicles to cross the road” says Altaf, a pedestrian.

The pathway is meant to be used for the safety of passengers, but the shop owners and hotels nearby use it as a dumping site, which is failing the purpose of the pathway. The city corporation authorities are turning a blind eye to it, and the passengers are obliged to either walk through the filth or meander through the vehicles, even during peak traffic periods.
