Jandhyala birth anniversary celebrated

Hyderabad: JandhyalaChitramitraMandali and VasaviClub, in coordination with the Department of Cultural Affairs, celebrated ‘HasyaBrahma’ Jandhyalajayanti at Ravindra Bharati on Tuesday. At the function, well-known actor Kota Srinivasa Rao, young director Harish Shankar besides actors Srilakshmi and Prudhvi were honoured with Jandhyala‘puraskars’.

Addressing the gathering, Telugu Desam MP and actor MMurali Mohan, who was the chief guest, recalled his association with Jandhyala. ‘I received a return gift at his marriage’, he quipped.Kota Srinivasa Rao enlightened the audience about the meaningful and meritorious writings of Jandhyala.

Well-known director RelangiNarsimha Rao and actor VKNaresh too recalled their association with the renowned director.Among those present at the function were Jandhyala’s wife Annapurna, his daughters Sahithi and Sampada, prominent director SVKrishna Reddy, actors Annapurna, Krishnaveni, Ragini, Ashok Kumar, Manik, VasaviClub representatives PodduturiRajeshwar, AnantulaDayakar, Srinivas Pabba and Andhra Bank officer Tirupal.

At the same function, the Government Dental College Alumni Association honoured ‘HasyaBrahma’Sankar Narayana with ‘VishwavikyataHasyaRasa Sarvabhowma’ title. Association president Dr BChandrakanth was present. Wife of Jandhyala, Annapurna presented the title to Sankar Narayana. Those present included actor Pradeep, Saraswathi, who presented the ‘Hasthyotsavam’ event.
