Gadwal: In a shocking incident, a patient in Gadwal district government hospital was attacked by the healthcare staff and later was threatened to throw out of the hospital for questioning the staff about neglect in providing proper treatment.

According to sources, the patient, Vijay Kumar, who had come for dialysis at Gadwal government hospital along with his wife and children was admitted as inpatient and was given dialysis. However, at 9 pm on Thursday, Vijay Kumar developed high blood pressure and was immediately shifted to Intensive Care Unit by the healthcare staff in the hospital.

But the staff reportedly left the patient in the ICU without providing any kind of treatment. As the patient was in critical state, Pallavi, wife of Vijay Kumar, had reportedly pleaded with the duty doctors Kishore and Govardhan, who were present at the time, to immediately begin treatment.

However, enraged over the plea, both the duty doctors along with the staff nurse and other hospital staff came down heavily on Pallavi and threatened her to throw them from the hospital.

When Pallavi tried to record the entire episode on mobile phone, the staff resorted to physical assault on Pallavi and later snatched away her phone.

However, when contacted, duty doctor Kishore explained that they had never neglected in providing treatment to the patient, but Pallavi had scolded them and provoked them without any reason of them.

However, refuting the charges of the duty doctor, the relatives of the patients alleged that the hospital staff had called some other people from outside and had manhandled them. It is alleged Rakesh, the husband of staff nurse, Sridevi along with some outsiders, had attacked Pallavi and her children. Meanwhile, police are yet to lodge complaints and take action.
