Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore, along with Secunderabad MLA T Padma Rao and senior officials, inspected Chilkalguda Multi-Model Function Hall and other areas of North Zone on Wednesday morning. The function hall is being constructed with a cost of up to Rs 4 crores. It will be soon completed, and the citizens of the North zone can be utilised, said the commissioner.

It has been proposed that a multi-model function hall will be constructed in every Assembly constituency for the poor, as per the vision of the Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). As part of the first phase, around 16 function halls are being planned in the near future with a cost of up to Rs 30.32 crores. Each function will be of around 3,300 sq yards, with about 24,000 sqft area. The function hall will have a ground and a first floor with an extent of 12,350 sqft, said the commissioner.

Padma Rao requested the Commissioner to provide AC facility at Chilkalguda Multi- Model Function Hall and to make it a model function hall for the convenience of the citizens. The Commissioner agreed and instructed the officials concerned to prepare an action plan to take up the request. The function hall will be completed by March and will be opened to the public, said the Commissioner.
The Commissioner directed the engineering officials to put up proposals for the construction of a model market or sports complex in the area of about 3,000 sq yards available at Namalagundu.

The sports complex that exists at Chilkalguda in an area of 3,000 sq yards will be provided with a walking track for the benefit of the citizens, Dana said. Later, the Commissioner, along with the officials, visited Madhuranagar Community Hall, which is under construction. Ravi Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Ashwin Kumar, senior engineer, and concerned corporators were also present on the occasion.
